My kids LOVE sticks. Any project that starts with collecting sticks is a hit in their book. Actually, the first collection of sticks became a batch of stick stew in our driveway, so we ended up doing a second stick hunt. Oh darn.
Once we had our sticks, the next step was paint. I used a sheet of paper to cover the table, which ended up itself being an unexpected piece of art.
Jackson had a blast exploring color-mixing and the texture of the sticks. He asked me to help him with a few… don’t have to ask me twice!
This would be an awesome collaborative project for a group of kids. You could also put strips of tape on first to make a pattern (like the wet chalk eggs).
How cool are these?!
